It uses minimum 2 disks. Though it offers the best results the disadvantage is if one of the disks is compromised the entire array stops working and you may not be able to restore back the data lost.

RAID 1 Data Recovery

RAID 1 is known as disk mirroring. It is best for financial and accounting industry. It is slow compared to RAID 0 and you practically use 50% of the total disk capacity. But you can enjoy 100% redundancy. It uses at least 2 disks. And, you can save your data if one is compromised.

RAID 2 Data Recovery

RAID 2 involves byte level stripping and the process is very costly. It does not have much commercial application. It may use up to 14 disks and on the fly data recovery is possible. In this type of file recovery the redundancy is very high and the process is completely reliable.
